Raymond writes primarily to understand. Poetry, for him, is a way to understand something.
He write prose as if it was a poem. I don’t know if I could do this but if I do, I need to have a strong why.
He is informed by his many readings on poetry.
This is lyric philosophy. But I don’t know if it is the kind I want to write. I want to write something that nurtures me and others. That people return to like scripture. But maybe this is too grand an aspiration.
